Program Overview
Connections at Berkshire Heights is a therapeutic emotional support program serving K–6 students from multiple districts across Berks and Montgomery counties.
As part of TLC’s Leadership Academies, the program is designed to provide a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where students can grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
Through function-based behavior support and targeted interventions, students are guided to develop more appropriate, prosocial behaviors while building leadership skills and emotional resilience.

Key Program Supports
Our students benefit from the following educational and coaching programs:
- Therapeutic Environment: Focused on understanding the function of behavior and implementing proactive, individualized interventions in a structured setting.
- Aligned Academic Curriculum: Standards-based instruction that aligns with Pennsylvania Department of Education guidelines, with differentiated strategies to promote engagement and success.
- Social-Emotional Learning (SEL): Direct instruction in SEL and social skills development to support self-regulation and interpersonal growth.
- Multidisciplinary Team Approach: Collaborative support from certified special education teachers, licensed mental health therapists, registered behavior technicians (RBTs), and a board-certified behavior analyst (BCBA).
- Evidence-Based Interventions: Use of proven strategies and materials tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Holistic Development: Emphasis on supporting students not just in school, but also in building skills for home and community success.
